Bob Godard
Founding Principal
Since he started working in construction in high school, Bob has built, bought and financed virtually every property type throughout the country. Bob is known for his attention to detail, drawing on his passion for architecture, focus on process, and command of finance to lead teams managing a diverse portfolio of properties across multiple market cycles.
Bob is the founder and CEO of Compass Real Estate and its affiliated companies, which he started twenty three years ago. He has sponsored a series of private real estate funds, particularly focused on general partner equity. His investment experience has been built on thematic opportunities, primarily driven by long-term demographic trends.
Bob is an avid outdoorsman and invests his personal time hiking, cycling, skiing, and hunting. Originally from Georgia, he now lives in Montana and enjoys as many outdoor activities as possible with his wife of nearly thirty years. They have two adult daughters.
